Peter Thomas Velasquez Jr.

Peter Thomas Velasquez Jr, age 75, passed away November 29, 2023, due to cancer. He was born August 22, 1948, in Yakima Washington to Peter and Minerva Velasquez. He was married to the love of his life Virgina Velasquez on July 5, 1969, who preceded in death in 2020. He served in the United States Army and participated in the Vietnam War. He worked and retired as a computer programmer for The City of Fort Worth.

Peter was a fun, loving outgoing father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather and a friend to all. He loved the outdoors, traveling, fishing, and being part of the Fort Worth Model-A-Club. He enjoyed going to mass on Saturday afternoon at St Ann Church and was a dedicated Catholic.

Peter had a wealth of knowledge in many different subjects and I’m grateful for all the things he was able to teach me, especially through my late teens and early twenties when I used to know it all. Thanks dad. Love you. Thomas.

Peter is survived by his son Peter T Velasquez III and his wife Elene D Velasquez.

Grandson Peter T Velasquez IV and appreciated that he loved his daughter in law’s three other children when she married into the family. He said they were his grandkids too, who are Cosme and his wife Sonia and Gavrielle Demi and Tommy Jr, plus 2 great grandchildren Ace and Ellie Gray.

His siblings, Minerva Adela and her husband, Mauro Serrano, Janet Marie and her husband, Ciro Uribe, Sofia Theresa and her husband, Jesse Zamarripa, Tomasita Victoria and her husband, Richard Martinez, and Arthur Carlos Sr. and his wife, Olivia Velasquez, Jimmy Ray and his wife, Natalie Velasquez.

Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of these he cared deeply for and loved.

Please join us on Sunday December 10, 2023, for the visitation from 4-8 pm with the Rosery beginning at 5:00 pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth Tx 76134.

A funeral service will occur Monday December 11, 2023, 10:00am at St Ann Catholic Church, 100 SW Alsbury Blvd, Burleson, TX 76028. A committal service will occur Monday, December 11,2023 from 12:00pm – 1:00 pm, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
