Peggy was born on November 24, 1965, in Dallas, TX to the parents of John Westley Mitchell and Tommie Lee Longmiles – Mitchell. Peggy accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at a young age. She attended Chillicothe Elementary School and graduated from CHS. Shortly after graduation Peggy relocated to Ft. Worth, TX where she made her home until her untimely departure. Peggy later met and married her soulmate Mr. Philippe Valentin in October of 1997. Their union was blessed with 3 children: 2 daughters – Sophia and Felicia Valentin of Dallas, TX, and 1 son Valentino Valentin of Denver, CO.
Peggy was a very happy soul, full of life, joy, and laughter. Peggy enjoyed helping others, spending time with family and friends, had many jobs and hobbies, but what she loved and enjoyed the most was title of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very loving, caring, and nurturing to her family, as well as others. Peggy also enjoyed cooking, decorating, gardening, listening to music, and talking on the phone to Aunt Ethel Lee almost daily. She also loved celebrating the holidays, Christmas was her favorite. She enjoyed hosting, entertaining both family and friends, and preparing amazing foods and deserts. Peggy always made the best pound cake, and we would often have a cake contest, between her, Bridgett, and I, however we all shared the same recipe. Philippe was the judge and it’s kind of funny how Peggy always won first place. Peggy would always buy the biggest Christmas tree that she could fine, decorating it exquisitely. Last but not least, shopping was really her thing.
Peggy later opened, owned, and operated “Happy Tots Daycare” for many years. She worked at Western Hill Elementary School as a cafeteria monitor and at Arlington Height for over 20 years. Peggy was a blessing to every resident and coworker that knew her. She touched everyone’s heart with her kindness and care. Peggy was recognized as Care Connection Champion for 3 years in a row for Sava Senior Care and on one of those occasions she was sent to Atlanta, GA for recognition at the company headquarters for the wonderful work she did. Peggy was also recognized as an Excellent CNAI by Amerigroup on 2 different occasions and recognized as Employee of the Month multiple times.
