Peggy Gene Sanders, age 94, of Burleson, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
In 1928 Peggy Sanders was born Peggy Gene McFarland to Jack and Irene McFarland in Fort Worth, Texas.In 1949 she married her high school sweetheart, Wesley Sanders, who has proceeded her in passing. They had three children, son Chesley, wife Michele, daughter Lou and son Kelley, wife Cindy.
She was active at Morningside Christian Church, and while her children were in school she was elected president of the local P.T.A. She pursued a career as an accounting secretary in the petroleum industry and served as president of the “Desk and Derrick” association of petroleum secretaries while her career took her to work for many of the major producers in Texas.
For much of her life she was known as “Honey” by all of those who loved her. A name given her by one of her four grandchildren, and carried on by her eight great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by a sister, Jackie, who has been an indispensable part of her life.
