Patsy D. Wheeler of Ft. Worth, passed away peacefully in Muenster, Texas on the morning of December 23, 2016. Patsy was born in Rising Star, Texas on October 20, 1928 to Lois and Jack King. Her dad passed when she was three and she was raised by her loving stepfather, Marion Gaw. During World War II the family, including brothers Jack and Fred, relocated to Ft. Worth. She graduated from North Side High School in 1946. She was married twice and had two daughters, Kay and Jan. Patsy had a successful career as a bank officer for many years. She served as Grand Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1965. She enjoyed playing bridge and was quite accomplished at it with several tournament wins. She was a long time member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Haltom City.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, J.H. (Midge) Wheeler and her two brothers, Jack and Fred King. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Malaise and Jan Spakes, four grandchildren, Mike, Chris and Matt Malaise and Shanelle Starnes, three great grandchildren, Cassidy Malaise, Isabella Starnes and Josie Malaise and both sisters- in-law, Joan and Harlene King .
Visitation will be at Shannon Funeral Home at 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, North Richland Hills from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. Service will be at St. Luke's Methodist Church Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
