Patricia Rose Partesius

Patricia Rose Jones Partesius was born May 30, 1937 in Knox County, Ohio to Harrison Rollie Jones and Bertie Ellen Swihart of Howard, Ohio. She passed away May 13, 2024 following a courageous battle with respiratory complications worsened by a recent surgery.

Pat graduated as valedictorian of her class in 1955 from Howard High School in Howard, Ohio. She became a Registered Nurse after completing her studies at Mt. Carmel Nursing School in Columbus, Ohio. Pat retired in 2002 at the age of 65, spending the latter part of her professional career as an RN working in the psychiatric unit of All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth Texas. Of all the roles she filled as an RN in her career this was her favorite.

Pat married John Scott Partesius of Howard, Ohio February 8, 1959 several years after John had joined the US Navy. They traveled the world during the rest of John's 28 year naval career, first by themselves, then with their children. Pat and her family settled in Fort Worth, Texas in 1977 and she lived the rest of her life here.

Following her husband's death in 1995, Pat stayed in touch with many of the people she came to know traveling the world as a Navy wife. Pat and John had been close to Mel and Sherry Bourn as John and Mel served together in multiple stops and both worked in Meteorology. Sherry Bourn fell ill and passed away in September 2001. As Sherry's health faltered, Pat kept in touch with Mel for updates. They bonded strongly over their shared experience of losing a spouse. What started out as mutual support in grief grew into a magnificent second chapter for both Pat and Mel, who shared a happy home from 2004 till Pat's death.

Pat was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and traveling.

Pat is survived by her partner and best friend Mel Bourn; her brother Owen Jones of Howard, Ohio and his extended family; her children Michelle St. Clair, John Partesius, and Jessica Fincher; her grandchildren William St. Clair, Joyce St. Clair, Lauren Wheelan, John Partesius, Natalie St. Clair and Paul Fincher; her great grandchildren Annabelle Wheelan and Owen Wheelan; as well as her son in law Jon St. Clair; and her daughter in law Lisa Turner Partesius. In addition she leaves behind nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
