FORT WORTH -- Pat Dinger, our beloved and cherished wife, mom, grandmom, sister and friend, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, April 20, 2015, after a valiant battle with cancer. Her devotion and the love of her family, along with her firm belief in God, supported her in the battle and ultimately gave her peace that only comes from the Lord.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Glenview Baptist Church, 4805 NE Loop 820, Fort Worth, 817-281-3361. Viewing: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, 817-293-1350.
Pat was born in Charlotte, N.C., to Samuel Johnson and Marie King. She attended Presbyterian School of Nursing and became an RN. She married the love of her life, Don Dinger Sr., in Charlotte on Dec. 12, 1959, before moving to Texas.
They were blessed with three children: Cheryl Ann, Donald Jr. and Laura. Pat raised her children with patience, discipline and humility. She taught them above all to seek and love the Lord.
Pat was a nurse in Fort Worth for 25 years at Fort Worth Pediatrics where she formed a lifelong friendship with Dr. James Friedman and his family. She loved her patients and enjoyed running into them as adults everywhere she went. Pat was a nurse at heart and her craft always carried into the hearts of others. She was soft-spoken and always had time to help others. She also had a heart for missions and traveled all over the world healing the sick and teaching them to love the Lord.
Pat has four grandchildren: Megan and Olivia Lasaster, Austen and Michaela Dinger. They were her heart's desire. She also taught them to love the Lord and always be kind and humble. She loved spending time with them on the beaches of North Carolina.
She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who celebrate her and have peace knowing she is in her eternal home.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, S.J. and Marie King.
Survivors: Her husband, Don; children, Cheryl Lasater and husband, Billy Lasater, and Donald E. Dinger Jr. and wife, Mary; daughter, Lori Dinger; her granchildren, Megan, Austen, Michaela and Olivia; brothers, James S. King and Andrew King of Charlotte, N.C.; and sisters, Rebecca Goudy of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Brenda Egnor of Fort Mill, S.C.
