Nola Deon Jones, 82, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at her residence in Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs. Jones, or Deon, as she was known to her family and friends, was born in Sweetwater, TX, to Horace Lyman Webster and Nora Ellen Lane Webster on January 6, 1936. She was the youngest of eleven children. Deon graduated from Sweetwater High School in 1954. Known as good natured, caring and fun loving, she was on the tennis team, served on the annual staff and as a journalist on the Pony Express student newspaper. She met Elvis Eugene Jones in junior high and married him on September 10th, 1955. They were married for 62 years and had 4 children. Deon was employed at Bell Telephone company as an operator, before she began her family and became a stay at home mom. As her children
left home, she took college art classes. Deon was a talented artist and sought after jewelry designer. She and Gene, used their combined talents to design and create many wonderful and artistic projects, all having their own unique, entertaining stories. In January 1994, Gene suffered a debilitating stroke and she became his caregiver. Not letting his stroke or her successful battle against breast cancer get them down, she packed up Gene and they traveled the United States and Canada in their motor home, visiting family and friends wherever they went. She also became the editor and compiler, for Gene’s genealogy work on both the Jones and the Webster families. In 2004, they moved from Lake Jackson to Austin, eventually settling in Fort Worth, TX, in 2015, to be near family. After raising her family, 20+ years of loving care for Gene and his subsequent passing in January 2018, Deon elected to go into at home
hospice care after several hospitalizations. She passed away peacefully, on the day she came home, with her family nearby.
Deon is preceded in death by her husband, Elvis E Jones, her father, Horace L Webster, her mother, Nora E Lane Webster, her brothers, Riley Don Webster and Billy Dale Webster, her sisters, Lois Lavon Payne, Charlotta Rae Thompson, Martie Ann Stracener, Nelma Faye Frost, Patsy Kathryn Webster, Dixie Darling Webster and Violet Elnora Whatley.

The strongest person you would never know, Deon was loved by her siblings and in-laws, her nieces and nephews and cousins, but was most loved by her husband, children and grandchildren. All will miss her greatly.
