Nancy Sue Hull, 75, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Nancy was born on September 27, 1938 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Fred C. Newbrough and Helen Grant Newbrough Clifton.
Nancy married Michael Benedum Hull on August 17, 1963 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. They were married for 40 years and resided in California and Ohio early in their marriage before they settled and retired in Burleson, Texas.
Nancy graduated from Victory High School in Clarksburg, West Virginia. After graduation, she served as a dental assistant while taking classes at Salem University. She continued her education at Tennessee Temple University before graduating with honors from Shenandoah College with a Liberal Arts degree in Education. Nancy began her teaching career in Madison, Ohio where she taught fourth grade. She later taught in Painesville, Ohio before leaving the teaching field to dedicate her life to raising her children, service to her community and being a follower of Christ.
Nancy was a member of Crestmont Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher with her husband, Mike, for many years for the fifth graders of the church. She also taught Vacation Bible School each summer. She was later a member of McKinney Memorial Bible Church. Nancy was a faithful member of Bible Study Fellowship where she enjoyed studying the Lord’s word and the fellowship of the women with whom she attended class. Nancy had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She often sang with her sisters in church and was a member of the women’s vocal performing group, Sweet Adelines.
Nancy was devoted to and delighted in her children and grandchildren. As a mother and Nana, nothing was more important to her than their wellbeing and happiness. She loved to laugh, sew quilts, cook huge family dinners, and create Christmas memories. She spent countless hours in her yard gardening and feeding her birds. She was a thoughtful encouraging friend, and was always ready to give compliments and praise. Her steadfast love and genuine giving spirit will be greatly missed by many.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Lanora Bow.
Survivors include Nancy’s children , Michael Woodrow Hull (Sandra) of Fort Worth, Susan Michelle Schwartz (Gregory) of Plano, and Amy Suzanne Hull of Fort Worth; a sister, Patty McDonald of Worthington, OH; and her beloved grandchildren, David Grant Schwartz, Andrew Reid Schwartz , Michael Cordell Hull and Rachel Lynn Hull.
A private graveside service will be held with burial in the Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
