On Friday, June 29, 2018, Jefferson "Coach Davis"Davis, Jr. surrendered to the call of his Lord and transitioned from earth to glory. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly. Celebrating The Homegoing of Jefferson Davis, Jr. will be on Thursday, July 5, 2018, Saint Simon's of Cyrene Church, 5505 Ramey Avenue at 11:00 AM. Visitation: Wednesday, July 4, 2018 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors. Burial: Woodland Cemetery in Corsicana, Texas. Jeff leaves to cherish his memories; Loving and devoted wife of 61years, Deralyn Riles Davis, Loving and devoted daughter, Jefflyn Dorsia Davis; son, Harlon Gene Melton; Brother, Gregory Hutchings;sisters, Patricia Davis Clark, Annetta Davis Batiste, Beverly Hutchings Cooper and husband Charles, and Anna Hutchings Rocquemore; grandchildren; Jefferson Davis, III, Jordan Daniel Davis, Christina Johnson, Harlon Melton, Jr. Patrick Melton, Adrian Melton and Lindsay Melton; 2 great grand children. His son Jock Kevin Davis preceded him in death. He serviced in the United StatesArmy. He retired as an Education Administrator from FWISD and Everman ISD after 42 years of service. special Nephew, Kirk Edwards and Special Niece Charisma Milledge; special friend, Bobby Puryear and a host of other relatives and friends.
