The youngest of five children of Roy and Dorothy King of East Northport, N.Y., Michael was born on March 31, 1966. He graduated from Northport High School in 1984. A true working class hero, Michael lived and worked on Long Island, where he met the love of his life, Kelvin Nunez, in 1993. Michael and Kelvin moved to Texas in 2003, first settling in North Richland Hills before purchasing a home in Watauga.
A dedicated member of the Wal-Mart team, Michael spent the majority of his free time enjoying the company of family and friends who remember him as a constant source of laughter, the life of any party, an honest and thoughtful conversationalist and a man fiercely loyal to those he loved. He enjoyed many recreational activities, including music, concerts, dancing, movies, football, roller coasters and animals and was proud to speak of his Catholic faith.
His brother, Daniel King of Watuaga, predeceased him in 2010.
Survivors: In addition to his parents, Michael was brother to Margaret Ferry of East Northport, N.Y., Catherine Murray of Fayetteville, Ga., and William King of Holtsville, N.Y. In Texas, he is survived by sister-in-law, Deborah Smith King; niece, Amanda King; nephew, Matthew King; and many close members of the Smith family. Across the country he will be remembered by a large extended family, including dozens of in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, second cousins and friends.
