Michael Joe Counts

Mike was a gentle soul to most everyone he knew, especially his family. Michael worked various positions before getting hired at Santa Fe Railroad which merged to Burlington Northern Santa Fe. He worked for the railroad for 40 years until his retirement 8 years ago.

Michael loved being on a pool league until COVID hit our country. He was a good player. His team would go to Las Vegas and compete against other teams around the country. Michael was also very proud of his granddaughter Alyssa and all of her success.

Michael is survived by his second wife, Lisa Counts; Mother Mary Counts; his sisters, Debbie Heard and husband Bill, Darla and husband Greg, and Donna and husband Eric; his 2 brothers, Michael Green and Rickie Green; daughter-in-law, Tanya Dickerson; grandchildren, Ashton and Alyssa; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael is preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria aka GiGi; his mother, Barbara Duncan; his father, Benny Counts; and sister, Deanya Christy.

The Memorial Service will be held on May 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home at the Chapel of Chimes, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
