Max was born on May 14, 1934 in a small farming community in Olton, Tx. He was a star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball earning several awards including induction into his High School Hall of Fame. He then became a lineman for the Telephone company. He married his wife of 66 years, Frances “Pat” LaDuke in 1955. He then went into the Army from February 1956-Dec. 1957. He played baseball and boxed during his army days, earning him the nickname “Tiger”. The family then moved to Fort Worth, TX where Max began his career as a Fort Worth Firefighter, from 1959-1987, retiring as a lieutenant. He also co-owned Meadowbrook Carpet Store and continued his legacy of being a hard-working man for many more years. Max was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather who loved unconditionally, worked hard, and made many friends along the way.
Max was preceded in death by his father; mother; sister, Mary Nell; and his son, Carl Douglas LaDuke.
Max is survived by wife, Pat LaDuke; son, Mike LaDuke; daughter, Marci Jones; sister, Billie Jean Manuel; brother, Roy LaDuke; grandchildren, Lyndsey Atkinson & husband, Tyler, Sabrina Sutherland & husband, Kyle, Sarah LaDuke, Doug LaDuke, Lauren Scott and husband, Chris; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Abby, Hannah, Samuel, Emily, Max, and Clara.
