Mrs. Mary Anne Whitehead

Mary Whitehead, 83, of Grandview, Texas passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023 at Texas Health Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to a close family of five children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was born Mary Anne Kramer in Fort Worth on August 16, 1940, the daughter of Louis E. Kramer Sr. and Emma Kramer. She grew up in Everman, Texas and graduated salutatorian of the Everman High School class of 1958. She married George Whitehead in 1958 and they made their home in Rendon. Mary was a long-time parishioner of St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield. Mary worked at the A. Brandt Company, at the city of Fort Worth as an executive assistant, at Huguley Hospital in the public relations department, and at the city of Mansfield where she worked in the finance department and from where she retired in 2009. Mary was an avid reader – especially Texas history – and loved classical music and art. Mary enjoyed travelling and made trips to Europe on two occasions.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Whitehead, her father, Louis E. Kramer, Sr., her mother, Emma Kramer, her brothers, Louis E. Kramer Jr., Rayburn C. Kramer, and James Elvan Kramer. Mary is survived by her five children, Beryl Maunga, David Whitehead and wife Tammy, Jeanne Whitehead, Judy Whitehead and husband Sean Bivens, and Patrick Whitehead and wife Melanie. Mary’s grandchildren include Amy Dunn (Blaine Hoyt), Christa Coulter (Johnathon Coulter), Matthew Dunn, Emma Whitehead, Sean Whitehead, and Ethan Whitehead. Mary’s great-grandchildren are Wyatt and Whitten Coulter.

Visitation at Laurel Land Funeral Home on Crowley Road will be Monday January 8, 2024 from 6 – 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Mansfield on Tuesday January 9, 2024 at 2 pm. Interment at the Everman Cemetery will follow the mass. Donations in memory of Mary may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, to the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in Fort Worth, or to Community Healthcare of Texas at Texas Health Huguley Hospital.
