Memorial service: 4 p.m. Monday at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 7001 Trail Lake Drive, Fort Worth.
Mary was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Big Spring. Mary centered her life around her Lord, family, friends and church. All were important and she served each with great energy and heart. She used her gifts of hospitality and service constantly. She was a wonderful behind-the-scenes, can and will-do-it woman. She was quick to serve others, always baking and taking meals, visiting nursing homes, assisting in various volunteer organizations. She loved people and was rich in relationships here and all around the United States. Mary made fast friends and kept a correspondence with many over the years. She had a way of caring for others and a sense of helping that directed much of what she did in her life.
She was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, deeply loving the church and people for 53 years. She loved Bible studies, bridge with her next door best friends, and anything to do with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each grandchild had a unique connection with her. She took special note of their interests and entered into their lives. She and Bud were best friends in marriage for 63 years before his death last year. They were truly a partnership, united in plans, desires and purposes.
