Mary Lee was born to Roy and Mary Taylor on Aug. 13, 1930. She was the first of three children. She graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth in 1947 and then attended Brantley-Draughn business school. After completing business school, Mary Lee went to work at the regional center of the FAA. Never late to anything else, Mary Lee was late to her first day at work because of the great flood of Fort Worth.
On June 4, 1950, Mary Lee married hometown boy Don W. Boston and moved with him to Bryan, where she worked as the secretary to the president emeritus of Texas A&M while Don finished college.
Throughout her life Mary Lee was a consummate hostess, opening her home to hundreds of people young and old. She volunteered at all of her children's schools and served the City of Forest Hill as a member of its Civil Service Commission. Mary Lee often worked with Don in his medical practice serving as his office manager. She also joined him in many spiritual works serving with him as a youth minister to hundreds of teens and post-teens in Fort Worth. Later, Mary Lee and Don also worked with young couples through Engaged Encounter and Marriage Encounter.
Mary Lee helped her brother and sister care for their aged mother until her death in March 2008. Two months later, Mary Lee had a stroke, and she and Don took up residence at Mirabella Assisted Living.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 63 years, Don; her parents; her brother, RJ; and a great-grandson, Noah Tolleson.
Survivors: Her children and their spouses, David and Patricia Boston, Larry and Debbie Boston, and Laura and Allen Shoulders; sister, Christine Thomas and her husband, James M. "Buster"; brother-in-law, Jack Boston and wife, Terry; sister-in-law, Bette Boston; grandchildren and spouses, Craig and Kristie Boston, Anna Lee and Shane Tolleson, Erin and Mark Anthony, Taylor Boston and fiance, Richard Romero, and Ryan Shoulders; and great-grandchildren, Zoey Tolleson, Timothy Boston and Quinn Tolleson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
