LAKE WORTH -- Martha Rattan Stewart, 82, a share cropper's daughter, was born in Fannin County. The family moved to Liberator Village (now White Settlement) in 1942 where both her parents worked at the "Bomber Plant". Martha graduated from Technical High School six months after her marriage to Henry N. Stewart. She has been a resident of Lake Worth since 1973.
Martha was a Charter member of National Museum of Women in the Arts and National Cowgirl Museum. Also a member of Modern Art Museum, Kimbell Art Museum, and Carter Museum. She was a supporter and major contributor of Stage West.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Jewell Rattan; brothers, Harold and Royce Rattan; sisters, Mildred Parsons and Guanna Porter; and beloved friend and former husband, Henry N. Stewart.
Survivors: Son, Henry Michael Stewart and wife Yria; daughters, Patricia Stewart, Kay Lynn Stewart, and Martha Sutterfield and husband Richard; grandsons, James Mock, Travis Stewart, Justin Stewart, Adam Sutterfield and wife April, Michael Pecore, Lukas Sutterfield, and Shane Olson; granddaughters, Jean Horn, Danielle Sutterfield, Randi Toro and husband Ivan, and Abby Sutterfield; six great grandsons, Alex, Andy, Nick, Liam, Killian Sutterfield, and Lionel Toro; six great granddaughters, Madison and Kennedy Mock, Rhegan Horn, Yria Stewart, Roan Sutterfield, and Sevin Toro; sister, Alta Ferguson, brother, David Rattan and wife Bette; sister-in-law, Kay Rattan; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved friends, Bill Engelke and Mike Taylor.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, July 2 at New Beginnings Church, 8210 Gibbs Dr., White Settlement.
