Marjorie “Marnie” Teresa Schmaldienst Williams, 97, was born November 9, 1921 in New Haven, Vermont to Samuel and Alice (Swenor) Schmaldienst and passed away August 11, 2019 in Irving, Texas with her family by her side. Marjorie grew up in Essex Junction, Vermont and later would go on to serve in the United States Army.
A visitation and reception will be held from 3 o’clock pm to 5 o’clock pm, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Fort Worth Texas, 76148. Funeral services will be held at 12 o’clock noon, Monday, August 19, 2019 at Saint Vincent’s Cathedral Church, 1300 Forest Ridge Drive, Bedford Texas, 76022. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas Texas, 75211.
She is survived by her children, David M. Williams and wife De An of Pataskala, Ohio, Susan Williams LeMay and husband Dan of Tulsa, Oklahoma and William B. Williams and wife Susan of Irving, Texas; step-children, Ann Cole and husband Bruce, Jackson B. Williams III and wife Rita, Louria Batson and husband John; grandchildren, Steve Thurmon, Kelly Sky, Scott Williams, Robert Williams, Matthew Williams, Ryan Williams, Kara Williams; several great grandchildren; sister, Helen Tarte of Essex Junction, Vermont; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jackson B. Williams, Jr., her parents, Samuel and Alice (Swenor) Schmaldienst, and her daughter Jody Thurmon.
