Margaret was born in New Haven, Conn., on Dec. 19, 1922. As a child, Margaret enjoyed many happy, sunny days frolicking on the beach and swimming in the ocean with her family and friends. After high school she was employed by Winchester Repeating Arms Ammunition Factory. While in New York City she met the love of her life, World War II Army soldier, Hubert A. Jones of Indian Creek. Margaret and Hubert moved to Brown County after their marriage at Central Chapel in Aberdeen, Md., on April 2, 1945, and later made their home in Fort Worth where they raised four daughters.
Margaret was an active member of St. Rita Catholic Church for over 50 years and loved singing in the choir. She enjoyed being a homemaker and lovingly cared for children of neighbors and friends in her home for 40 years. She had a passion for gardening; nurturing roses, shrubs, flowers and growing vegetables. She always carried a crossword puzzle and was hard to beat in a game of gin rummy. She was very proud of her Irish Catholic heritage.
Her strongest attributes were her courage and strength in the face of all challenges, her loyalty to her family and her faith in God. She lived by one of her favorite sayings, "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all!" She was an encourager and never spoke ill of anyone.
Margaret cared for her husband, Hubert, in Fort Worth until his death in 1994. During her later years, Margaret resided at Lakewood Village Retirement Community in Fort Worth, where she made many friends. Margaret resided at Vista Ridge Nursing Home in Lewisville from 2009 until her death.
Family and friends celebrate her face-to-face meeting with Jesus and her reunion with all of the departed souls she has loved in her lifetime.
