Malachi Sam Dunn answered his calling on September 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Malachi was born August 25, 1922, in Wheelock, Texas, to Reverend Jackie and Ersula Dunn. Malachi moved to Abilene, Texas, where he met the love of his life Mary Jo Jackson-Dunn. The two united in holy matrimony on July 8, 1955, and shared sixty-two blessed years together.
In 1955, they moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where they raised their five daughters. Malachi loved and supported his family as a truck driver, a mechanic and as security for Mattel Toy Company. Later in life Malachi accepted Christ and was a dedicated and faithful Deacon of Riteway Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of Pastor Henry Stafford. Malachi loved the Lord and his favorite phrase was “Lord have mercy. His final church membership was with Truevine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Jack A. Crane. Malachi was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Joe Dunn; both parents, Ersula and Jack Dunn; siblings, Flossie Dunn, Jackie Dunn, Claude Dunn, L.K. Dunn, Prince Dunn, Clarice Conway, Virginia Heads, Johnnie Dunn and Ruth Nobles.
Malachi leaves to cherish his loving memories; daughters, Jacqueline Giddings (Sherman), Sharon Wilson (Mitchell), Janet Whittley (Don), Deborah Alexander and Donna Jones; sisters, Willie Mae Green and Athalene Hodges and 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and special friends of over fifty years, Linda Sanderson and Isaiah Edwards,
