June 28. 1931 – October 6, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that we announce the passing of Madolyn June Beeson, who departed peacefully at the age of 93 on October 6, 2024. Madolyn was born in Lecompte, Louisiana on June 28, 1931 to her mother Alvin Christine Clark and father F.C. Doyal. She was the only girl among five brothers. Madolyn lived a long, happy life surrounded by the love of her family, the beauty of her gardens, and the melody of classical standards that brought joy to her days.
Madolyn was a woman of love and strength. She devoted her life to her family, always placing them at the heart of her world. As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was a constant source of love and comfort. Madolyn was always ready with a smile for everyone she encountered. Madolyn never met a stranger. She attracted so many with her boundless energy and good spirit.
Madolyn met the love of her life Sam Beeson in the early 1960’s. They were married after a long courtship. Sam was an accomplished piano player and shared Madolyn’s love of music. They shared a life in purchasing homes to refurbish and sell. Together, they combined their unique tastes and style to restore beauty to homes.
Madolyn was an artist of life, with an innate talent for transforming spaces into something extraordinary. She took great pride in decorating homes, particularly those she lovingly prepared for resale, adding a touch of charm and elegance to every room. Her love for antique shopping only enriched her creative vision, as she discovered hidden treasures that gave each space a sense of history and character. She saw beauty in the past and brought it forward, creating homes that were not just lived in but truly loved.
Madolyn enjoyed beautifying landscapes with her spare time. Madolyn’s garden was her sanctuary, a place of peace and joy where she spent hours tending to her flowers and plants. She nurtured her garden with the same tender care she gave to those around her, and her vibrant blooms were a reflection of the life and spirit she shared with the world.
When not decorating or tending to her garden, Madolyn could often be found with music filling her home—timeless classical standards that offered comfort and inspiration. The voices of Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, and the songs of Cole Porter were the soundtrack to her days, accompanying her through life’s many moments with a familiar and soothing presence. Music was her constant companion, a source of joy that resonated deeply with her.
Though we say goodbye, we find peace in knowing that Madolyn’s legacy of beauty and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was a true reflection of the beauty she brought into the world, and her spirit will forever grace the gardens of our hearts.
Madolyn is survived by her brother, Clyde Doyal, granddaughter, Cherie Holt and husband, Jon Holt, grandson, Norman Becker and wife Noor, great-grandchildren, Houston, Benjamin, Adeline, Alana, Ari, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Madolyn was preceded in death by husband, Sam Beeson, parents F.C. Doyal and Alvin Clark, daughter Cheryl Marrioneaux and husband Johnny Marrioneaux, brothers, Charles Doyal, F.C. Doyal, Clark Doyal, and Benjamin Doyal.
