On Friday, June 24, 2022, Mabel McCall went home to meet her Lord and Savior after a long illness. She was 95. Born April 10, 1927 to Henry Washington Stout and Bessie Wilkes Stout of Grandview, Texas, she was of the Baptist faith. She was married to Samuel A. McCall for many years. Their only son, Lester Charles died at the age of six.
Mabel retired from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram after 55 years of service. She was the personal secretary to Amon Carter.
Survivors include her brother: John Coleman Stout and wife Doris of Rio Vista; sisters: Nancy Stout McConnell of Paradise and Denzel Stout Hall of Bedford; brother-in-law: Joel Thacker and wife Glenda; sister-in-law: Jimmie Stout Wood and husband Terry; along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband, son, brothers: JH Stout and Wesley Stout; sisters: Faye Hunt, Lora Lillie Anderson, Tinnie Ivy, Ethel Thacker, and Ellen Coffee, and other family members.
A visitation for Mabel will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home - Ft Worth, 7100 Crowley Road, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
A committal service will occur Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park - FW, 7100 CROWLEY RD, FORT WORTH, TX 76134.
