Jack was born on October 14, 1929 and raised in Wichita, Kansas to Glenn Walter and Hattie Else Weare. He worked at Boeing Aircraft where he enjoyed playing ice hockey, and most importantly met and married the love of his life Allene. They were married for over 72 years. He wanted his children to know the love of Jesus Christ, respect their elders, and know right from wrong. No gray areas were allowed and sometimes, the “board of education was applied to the seat of higher learning”.
Jack was the fun dad. He took his kids boating on Lake Benbrook, coached his sons in baseball and ice hockey, and drove all over the county drag racing. Later Grandpa Jack became the perfect grandfather. He drove thousands of miles watching baseball games, basketball games, dance recitals, track meets, and trap shooting events.
He was equally committed to his great grandkids. He played games like “how many Cheetos can you hang around the rim of a glass”, who can work a puzzle the fastest, and answered countless questions on “how does this work”.
His love was helping people with their budgets, better known to him as a “Spend Plan.” His number one rule was to give a tenth to the Lord. Next was to save a little out of each check. One lady that he had helped came up to him at church and told him she had to have some work done to her car. She was so excited to let him know that due to his “Spend Plan”, she had the money to pay cash for the repairs.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Billy Gene Weare; and his sister, Glendora Davis.
He is survived by his wife, Allene Weare; daughter, Jill Hatcher; sons, Jack Michael Weare and Mark Weare; 6 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
Jack was a kind hearted and generous man who believed in paying it forward, and by doing so the Lord would take care of you in life. He will be missed. We love you dad.
