Linda was born April 5, 1934 in Woodland, WA. The youngest child of Leland Walter and Mary Jesse Crump, she spent her formative years growing up on ranches in SE Oregon and spoke fondly of Andrews, OR and Steens Mountain. She graduated in 1952 from Mt. Angel Academy and earned her Nursing Diploma from Sacred Heart General Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She then went to Chicago to study and train for her CRNA at Cook County Hospital, an achievement she was very proud of.
Linda relocated to Boise, ID to practice anesthesia at St. Luke's Hospital. She met her husband Howard through mutual friends and they married May 27, 1961. She gave birth to 5 daughters and was eventually blessed with 3 grandchildren.
In 1983, she moved with her family to Fort Worth, TX for Howard's new job with the Fort Worth Independent School District. She revived her nursing career and worked at Medical Plaza until her retirement.
Linda was fortunate to be able to do some traveling but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren....one of which was born on her birthday. This gave opportunity for many joint celebrations through the years.
She is survived by her husband, Howard E. Freeman; daughters Melanie Haller and husband Thomas Lemon, Karen Freeman, Valerie Knollmeyer, Heather McManus and her husband Sidney McManus, and Tracy Macfarlane; and grandchildren Logan Knollmeyer, Hamish Macfarlane, and Isla Macfarlane.
The family wants to thank everyone for all their kind words and actions, especially Andrew Macfarlane and all the staff and care givers of the former Silverado.
There will be a private memorial service scheduled for a future date.
