Linda Carol Bower, our Beautiful, Wonderful Sister, Our Best and Loyal Friend is now with God. She died Wednesday April 19, 2023. Linda battled Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) for years, it was contained, but then Covid and its complications overwhelmed her after a long struggle. Linda was a fighter and fought hard. She was an inspiration.
After months of hospital treatments, she was sadly taken. Linda joins her beloved parents David Bower, Sr. and Gladys Bower (Tollinche), baby Brother David II, and Sister Kathleen in heaven.
Linda was born August 30, 1949 in Tampa, Florida while her Father was stationed there with the Air Force.
Linda made her last home in Watauga, Texas and was married to the love of her life, Ellen Pesserillo for about 22 years. Linda was a wonderful Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, neighbor, and friend to so many. She was the third daughter of eight children raised by David Bower, Sr. and Gladys Bower (Tollinche).
Linda moved throughout the U.S. and abroad with her family to many Air Force Bases while her father was on active duty in the Air Force. Linda owned a successful printing company Printbuyers Hotline in Ft. Worth and Watauga for decades.
Linda graduated from Bryan Adams High School, then attended the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Art. Her house is adorned with her original works.
Linda was brilliant, iconoclastic; a true artist, a great lover of art, literature, music, and philanthropist, supporting the needy, aid agencies, NPR, PBS. Linda was a Rebel With a Cause.
Linda loved to garden, swim in her pool, work out to HasFit, hiking, Pickle Ball, visiting museums and concerts, travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Linda was preceded in death by her Wife Ellen Pesserillo, her beloved Father David Bower Sr. and Mother Gladys Bower (Tollinche), her Sister, Kathleen, and her Brother, David II.
Linda leaves behind her Sisters, Bonita Pope, Suzie Matteis, Rita and Husband Stephen Thomson, her Brother George Bower and his Wife Charlotte, David Bower III and Wife Katherine.
Linda’s beloved Nephews and Nieces: Andrea and her Husband Jon Hibbs, their Son Austin Hibbs, Daughter Ashley, and her Husband Daniel Morrison. Phillip Herr and his Wife Jackie, their Son Andy and Daughter Lauren Kate. John Herr and his Wife Hilda, their Son Dylan and Daughter Shae Lyne. Zeb Houston and Wife Cassandra, their Daughters Grace and Madelyn Rae, and their Sons Conner, Jackson and Carter. Christina Matties, Aaron Bower, Austin Roa, Weslea Roa, Jerid Sizemore, and Wife Carisa, their Son Jerid and Daughter Ashlyn, David Bower lV, and Rachael Bower.
Linda's loss leaves a tremendous void that is felt by so many; Linda loved deeply and was loved deeply...she will be missed! How lucky and blessed are the ones who got to spend time with her.
Linda's ashes will be laid to rest in the Garden of Memories in the Bower family area. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Linda Carol Bower to the (CLL Foundation for Scholarships):
