Larry Darnell Crowe, SR. was born to the late James Crowe, Jr. and Dorothy Mae Douglas Crowe. Larry was the eldest of three children within that union. Larry received his education from Polytechnic Sr. High School graduating with honors (Salutatorian) in 1973. Larry was well known for his skills on and off the field as a high-profile running back for Poly. Larry's many athletic talents also led him to the track field, where he ran Hurdles. Larry earned a Full Ride Scholarship to Arizona State University, where he further displayed his talent as a freshman on the Varsity Team (Corner Back). Larry also played in the Fiesta Bowl in Sun Devil Stadium in tempe, AZ., in 1974-1975. Larry suffered multiple injuries during his football career with ASU and was forced to return home. Larry accepted Christ at an early age, joining Outland Memorial AME Zion Church, Fort Worth, Tex. Larry married Evett, and they both moved to Irving, TX., where they joined Bible Way Community Baptist Church, Irving TX. in December, 1997. Larry was employed at TXI Industries, where he worked alongside his dad. Larry later went on to work for Dexcide Inc., Walmart and finally UPS-Dallas Metro, where he retired. Larry maintained his passion and love for the game of Football as he joined the Stop Six Blue Cats as an Offensive Coordinator for three years. He was always excited for the Dallas Cowboys season to start. Larry had all of the predictions, answers, etc. Larry was a man of many talents, including reading his Bible every morning while drinking coffee sitting in his car, so he could watch over the neighborhood, and waited for anyone to walk up so he could share the word of God. Larry had a love for writing poetry and drawing while listening to his Gospel music, Ol' School R&B, and even Country music. Larry was a loving and caring person with an Over-Protective spirit for his entire family and close friends. He had to know who was doing what and had to know what was going on with everyone at all times. He wanted to make sure no one got off of their daily routine. Larry even named himself; The Eastwood Neighborhood Security Watchdog, especially on Pate Drive. Larry endured pain daily but nothing stopped his obligation to his mother, taking care of her daily needs and also looking after his sister.
