L E Jones

Service: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

LE Jones was born in October 1943 in Grapeland to Hebrew Sr. and Minnie Lee Jones. LE was the second of 10 children. He was baptized at Stanton Church of Christ at an early age. LE attended public school in Midland. He received his bachelor's degree while enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After his discharge from duty, he was employed by General Dynamics for 35 years.

LE has joined in heaven his parents; his wife of 47 years, Betty M. Jones; and siblings, Reva Dale Jones, Lila V. Jones, Frances Jones-Hammie and David Jones.

Survivors: He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Gladys Roberts, Linda Spencer (Marcus) and Janice Powell (Rickey); son, Lawrence Roberts, all of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hebrew Jones Jr. (Vivian) of Big Spring and Marvin Jones (Danita) of Spring; sisters, Bonnie Chavez of Capitan, N.M., Marva Scurlark (Troy Sr.) of Mesquite and Lea Spencer (Michael) of Garland; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
