Kevin Christopher Queppet Sr., 55, died of an apparent heart attack on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in his home. Born in Ottawa, Kansas on January 9, 1963 to Joseph (Buzz) and Jean Johnson Queppet, Kevin was a 1981 graduate of North Side High School. His life exemplified one of service to his community. His 28-year professional career was spent with the North Richland Hills Fire Department as a Firefighter and Paramedic, ending as an Inspector/Investigator. After retiring in 2016, he continued to serve as a Deputy Constable with Tarrant County Precinct 5.
Always among the first to jump in and the last to leave whenever something needed to be done, Kevin looked for the humor in every situation and the good in everyone. Faithful, hardworking and reverent, he led and taught by example -working to help and protect those in need.
SURVIVORS: Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. (Buzz) Queppet and his brother Stephen A. Queppet. He is survived by wife Tanisia Castillo, daughter Julie Cook (David), sons Kevin Jr. and Joseph A. II, grandson Nash, mother Jean Queppet, sister Cathy Frederick, two macaws, four dogs and much-loved family and friends.
SERVICE: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Shannon Rufe Snow Drive Funeral Chapel. Viewing prior to service. Reception following.
MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to North Side High Legacy Foundation (www.northsidehighlegacy.org), and specify the donation “in memory of Kevin Queppet” - who was once Drum Major of the band. The funds will be used to support the North Side High School Band.
