Joyce was a graduate of Paschal High School. She married the love of her life, John Lawhon, on August 30, 1949, in Fort Worth. Joyce dedicated a majority of her life to raising her family and caring for her home. She was passionate about crafts, her dancing group and antiquing.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Pearl Starnes and sister, Judy Eakins.
She is survived by sons, Mark Lawhon and his wife Claudia, Chris Lawhon; grandchildren, Ryan Lawhon and his wife Patty, Jason Lawhon; great grandchildren, Alexa and Killian, and her sister, Pat Tarpenning.
A funeral will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home Fort Worth, Chapel of Chimes, June 22, 2021 at 10 am with an interment in the Memorial Park to follow.
