Jose "Coco" Luis DeHoyos Jr.

Staff Sergeant Jose Luis De Hoyos Jr. (Coco) was born July 6, 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up, Coco always had a thirst for knowledge and self-improvement, whether it be academics or his hobbies. Beginning in Middle School and all throughout High School, Coco participated in JCC and onto JROTC, dreaming of one day serving his country. Immediately graduating High School, he chased his dreams and joined the United States Marine Corps the first chance he got. After 4 long years of faithful service to the USMC, he returned home to continue his military career with the National Guard over the next 11 years. While back in the States, he graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Criminal Justice Administration. During his free time, Coco enjoyed playing video games, watching anime, cross-fit, napping, grabbing a bite to eat with his family and participating in marathons. He even won medals!

Coco was known to some as a disciplined, humble, fearless, and selfless young man, while to others he was laid back, a prankster, crafty, and very much a family man. Over all, Coco is very well respected by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He gave 100% in everything he put his mind to, whether it be taking care of his family or serving his country; he gave his all.

On October 26th, 2021 Jose left to be with his beloved Maternal Grandfather Rudy Biache Sr, his Maternal Step-Grandfather Trinidad D. Ortiz, his Maternal Uncle Rudy Biache Jr, and his Paternal Grandparents Isabel De Hoyos Martinez and Guadalupe De Hoyos.

He is survived by his Parents, Jose Luis De Hoyos Martinez Sr., & Sandra Ann De Hoyos Biache. His younger sister Miranda Marie De Hoyos Biache, His Maternal Grandmother Felipa Aviña Ortiz, His Maternal Aunt (And Second Mother) Trinidad Ortiz, alongside his loving and large De Hoyos Biache family and friends.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, Unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.
