A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday October 11th from 12:30-3:30 at Urban Fire House, 8300 Starnes Rd. North Richland Hills, TX 76180. BBQ will be served, casual attire and we ask that everyone try to wear Texas Longhorn, Dr Pepper, or M&M shirts if you would like. Parking is located across the street at Gateway Church.
John Edward Lowry Jr. was born in Odessa, Texas to John Edward Lowry Sr. and Catherine Ruth Gibson on September 13th 1950. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1969. A few years later Ed married Yvonne Morrison on June 9th 1972 in Odessa, TX. They shared three wonderful daughters together. Nearly 46 years later they decided to go separate ways and parted in 2018.
Ed Lowry was an extremely hardworking man and worked many hours to make sure his family was taken care of. Out of high school he worked in the Grocery Store Business starting at Piggly Wiggly, and A&P Groceries. He worked as a Supervisor for Lee’s Supermarket for 15 years, and Minyard Food Stores for 9 years, later retiring in 2002.
He had many hobbies that included wood work for Christmas and other holiday yard decorations in which he won many awards for. Other hobbies included painting, leather work, and coaching his daughters in softball. He enjoyed collecting Dr. Pepper, M&M, and University of Texas memorabilia.
Ed Lowry is preceded in death by both of his parents John Edward Lowry Sr. and Catherine Ruth Gibson, younger brother Bobby Don Lowry, and in-laws Tom and Evelyn Morrison.
Ed Lowry is survived by Kristy Parker, Jennifer Lowry, Julie Frayer (husband Chad Frayer), Thomas Fuller, Kaitlyn Virgil-Lowry, Cory Lowry, Grandchildren; Cole Guerra, Izabelle Arispe, Gabrielle Arispe, Alec Frayer, and Adilyn Frayer; Great Grandchildren; James Fuller and Aella Tomar.
The family of John Edward Lowry Jr wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Brookdale in North Richland Hills for taking good care of him for the past four years and making sure he was able to spend his last days at his home.
