John Martin Lewis, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, went home to his Lord on August 3, 2017. Born March 11, 1936. He joined the Navy at seventeen-years of age and was stationed at Barber’s Point where he married the love of his life, Frances Carmen Lewis. Later John was stationed at New London Naval Base, working as a TDC, programing and maintaining the computers that ran the Nuclear Submarine simulators. John finished out his distinguished Naval Career at the Navy Recruiting Command in Boulder, Colorado. He retired a 22-year naval veteran and was honorably discharged. He then moved to Longmont where he owned and operated an 11-acre hobby farm. While there he graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in nursing. He worked and retired as a Registered Nurse from Longmont United Hospital. Later John and Fran moved to Sadler, Texas where he worked and retired from Texoma Medical. It was here that he became a volunteer paramedic with the Gordonville Volunteer Fire Dept. and an elder in his church, Sherwood Shores Chapel. John is survived by his much-loved wife of 60+ years, Frances C Lewis. John was the father of two sons, Mark Evan Lewis, who passed away due to cancer in 2010 and John Jordan Lewis, who now resides in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at the time of his passing. He and Fran had many friends who will miss him. A service was held for John on August 18th at Sherwood Shores Chapel. He was interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas. `
