On Tuesday, January 11, 2022, John William Carr (JB), passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86. John was born on April 4, 1935 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Phil Carr and Lorraine Hudson Carr. On August 21, 1959, he married his best friend Patricia Ann Brown. Together they raised their daughter, Catherine (Cathy), spent many years together as involved grandparents to Garrett and Jordan, and loved their son-in-law Eric as one of their own.
John was known for his infinite kindness and ability to make those around him feel welcome, as well as his talent for getting a smile out of anyone he spoke to. He most enjoyed his time spent at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo where he spent 28 years working in the Grand Entry office. A passion he was able to pass down and share with his daughter Cathy beginning in 2017. John was also an avid collector of cowboy boots and could never be accused of ever lacking the best sense of western style. He enjoyed supporting and encouraging the life endeavors and hobbies of his grandchildren, Garrett and Jordan, and could be described as their biggest and most passionate advocate. His way of life was truly one to be admired and his presence will be missed most profusely.
John (JB) Carr was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann Carr, parents Phil Carr and Lorraine Hudson Carr, brother Bobby Joe Carr and sister Naoma Fairweather. He is survived by daughter Cathy Hobbs and son-in-law Eric Hobbs. Grandchildren Garrett Hobbs and Jordan Hobbs. Sister Patricia (Gerri) Bing and Brother-in-law AJ Fairweather. Nephews Greg Weaver, William G Weaver, Phillip Fairweather, and many loved extended family members.
