JoAnn R. White "Mema" 82, of Alvarado passed away, Monday, November 13, 2017 surrounded by her family in Mansfield, TX. She was born in Honolulu, HI on January 23, 1935 to Ernest and Vera Reed. JoAnn married the love of her life Clayton A. White "Papa" on July 7th, 1957. Not many people know this but, believe it of not they met at a bar after she was caught stealing cherries from his drink. She and Clayton traveled the world during his time with the Army. While raising 6 children she started her career with H & R Block where she retired as a Manager in Ft. Worth, TX after 30 years of service. Joann enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, traveling, and who could forget that big green tupperware cup full of her sweet tea with lemon. JoAnn always had a way to make everyone around her feel special and loved. She was endlessly gentle and kind with her choice of endearing expressions. We will always remember her saying "Okay Pumpkin, I love you. Take Care", before ending a conversation. Those glasses she wore must have had a "See the good in people" filter in them, because she never failed to see the virtuous qualities with those in her life. Her passion was spending quality time with her family anyway possible. With such a big family she taught us the value in, "The more the merrier". Never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her father- Ernest Reed, mother- Vera Turner Reed, husband- Clayton White, son- Michael White and great grandson- Hudson Newcomb. She is survived by, one brother in law- Jimmy R. White, daughter's Debbie Napolitano and husband Sam, Vicki Lowry and husband Johnny, Tammy Moradi and Jamal, Kathy Newcomb and husband Rodney, Cyndi Harris, and son Clay White. Grandchildren, Shandy Childs and husband Jon, Brandy Lowry, John Lowry, Lacee Kirkland and husband Cameron, Michael Newcomb and wife Steffani, Kristan Carter and husband Jon, Kavon Moradi and wife Anna, Shauna Moradi, Jody Napolitano and Amy, Megan Harris, as well as 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and her traveling buddy JoAnn Newcomb "Granny". We find comfort in knowing she was met at those pearly gates by the love of her life. She and those that have gone before her are all smiling down on us and having a reunion in Heaven. This is not goodbye it is "Take Care Pumpkin, we will always love and miss you".
