Joann M. Brown

JoAnn grew up in Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from Pascal High School in 1952. In 1953, she married Bill Brown. They lived in Fort Worth, Texas where they had 3 children, son Larry, and daughters Lynda and Lisa.

JoAnn worked at a bank as a bookkeeper and was also a talented seamstress. She worked for Habitat for Humanity, QuickWash and General Dynamics over the years. Bill and JoAnn moved to Alvarado in 1967, where they built a house and joined First Baptist Church of Alvarado, Texas.

In 1980, they built a house in Midlothian, Texas. JoAnn was a faithful member of Midlothian Bible Church with her husband Bill, from its beginnings, as a bible study in Alvarado in the mid 70s, to its current location in Midlothian. ~50 years. In the last few years, after she and Bill were unable to attend services, they enjoyed watching Dr. Charles Stanley, and then his son, Pastor Andy Stanley on Sunday morning TV.

JoAnn loved to volunteer at the pregnancy center and at the hospital holding babies. She also liked painting, and took painting lessons. She read her Bible thru and thru several times. She loved walking, traveling, and hiking in Ireland and Alaska with her sister.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Brown; parents Roy and Velma Simmons; and granddaughter, Monica Hartman.

She is survived by her sister, Anna Tong; and brother, Lee Roy Simmons; her daughter, Lisa Reeves (Layne) of Waxahachie, Texas; daughter Lynda Biggs (Curtis) of Alvarado, Texas; and son, Larry Brown of Midlothian, Texas. Her grandchildren; Beau Brown (Jessica), Andrea Schrick (Jason), Christina Biggs, Jenifer Humphries (Robert), Andrea Biggs, Ashley Wagner (Robert) and Alex Reeves (Hannah). Her great grandchildren; Anthony Brown, Aubrey Brown, Jaden Schrick, Allison Schrick, Jessica Whitson, Seph Whitson, Ray Whitson, Ellie Whitson, Dylan Humphries, Rylee Humphries, Peyton Humphries, Sydney Humphries, Kel Boatright, Ember Boatright, Tabitha Wagner, Carlin Wagner, and many more family and friends who will miss her deeply.
