Ironically, a neighborhood playmate, Erv Hoppe, would become her lifelong best friend and the love of her life. They married in June of 1970 and were happy to start their family when Jennifer was born June 13, 1973. Their son Brian, born September 26, 1976, made their family complete. Jan was happy to be a full-time mom, and dedicated the next several years to being a CampFire and 4-H leader, as well as giving her time at the kids’ school as room mom and library volunteer. Jan’s world centered around her family. She always loved them generously, joyously and proudly. As Jenny & Brian married and the four grandchildren arrived, Jan found her greatest of joy in being “NANA!”. She was a spirited, fun-loving and gentle soul and was blessed with dear friends who could join in the fun and laughter. Jan spent her last days focusing on gratitude for her Erv, her family and a life well-lived.
