Janice was born March 4, 1953, in Fort Worth. She graduated from Poly High School in January 1971, and Texas Wesleyan College in December 1973. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a minor in English, and in Early Childhood Specialization. Janice retired in 2012 after teaching 37 years in the Fort Worth ISD.
Janice was raised in the Polytechnic United Methodist Church where she made lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Margaret Jones, and her Husband of 44 years, William Byrd, all of Fort Worth.
With a grateful heart Janice wanted to thank Dr. Regan Street, Tammy Smith, Jessica Mathis, and the Texas Oncology-Bedford team for their honesty, compassion, and care throughout this journey.
Survivors: Daughter, Kerry Byrd of Benbrook. Daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Joel Harrison; grandchildren, Emily, Jonathan, and Katherine Harrison all of North Richland Hills. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Linda Byrd of Burleson; John and Leslie Byrd of Arlington. Aunt, Annie Lee Croley of Kingswood. Cousins, Edna Manley of Fort Worth; Julie and Richard Payne of Kingswood; Alan Croley of Houston. An entire flock of Byrd cousins, nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
