James Cecil “Jim” Williams died peacefully October 25th, 2017 in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 94. Service: 3:00 pm Tuesday October 31, 2017 at Laurel Land Chapel of Chimes, with Steve Tawater officiating.Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Jim was born on June 21, 1923 in Corbin, KY and shortly after graduating from Corbin High School he enlisted into the Army Air Corp where he trained to be an Air Traffic Controller and in addition Jim gained his pilot license and became a pilot for military carriers. He served the full duration of WWII plus 6 months with an honorable discharge on February 23, 1946. Jim personally owned and operated two private airplanes, his passion for flying remained with him throughout his lifetime. After moving to Fort Worth Jim became a construction engineer for Conti Industries whom he remained with for many years. Jim was also a talented musician and a great love for Big Band music. Jim’s family and friends will always remember him as a kind, generous and loving person, he will be greatly missed. Jim is survived by his wife, Frances Mabra Blissett Williams; two children; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Also, an extended family of three daughters; eight grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great grandchildren.
