Buster was born January 10, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas to Clyde and Betty Thomas. He graduated from Paschal High School and later attended Arlington State College where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked in the Fort Worth/Dallas area as a Sales Engineer. He served 4 years in the United States Navy stationed aboard the USS Lake Champlain. He married Christine Taylor on August 9, 1958, and had two daughters, Sherilyn and Lee Ann, who knew their dad as “the most wonderful Dad in the world”. He was a multi-talented man with his work in oil painting, jewelry making, building a home on Pennington Creek near Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Many happy times with his family and friends were spent there. He was a developer and builder of a long-range metal detector that gave him many happy days as a treasure hunter. He was a member of Altamesa Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Christine; daughters, Sherilyn Jones and husband Leon and Lee Ann Moore and husband Danny; grandsons, Landon Wisely, Ethan Jones, Marshall Agnew, and Clint Jones.
