On Saturday, February 17, 1940, James R. Mouton was born into the World to Esau and Esther Mouton in Abbeville, Louisiana. Growing up he enjoyed hunting and fishing and host of outdoor activities. After graduating High School James answered the call of duty enlisting in the United States Air Force on 16 April, 1961, beginning a career which would last 20 years and take him to destinations around the country and around the World.
In 1965, James was ordered to the Republic of Vietnam where, as said many times, he spent 12 months dodging mortar and rocket attacks and working 12 hour days 7 days a week. Upon completing his tour of duty, James returned to the United states, where on August 31 1970 he married the woman to whom he would be married to for the next 52 years, Carolyn Wesley.
After a 20 year career in the Air Force, James retired 30 June 1981, and began a second career in the Civil Service at Carswell Air Force base, later renamed Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth where he also retired after working 20
years.
James was a friendly man who would help anyone in need, a loving husband, supportive father, to his sons, as well as a second father to many of his sons friends, and of course Paw Paw to his many Grand and Great Grand Children.
On January 17, 2023 James was called to be with the Lord after a brief illness. James leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Carolyn Mouton, his sister Mae Bell Valcin, his sons Micheal Ely, James Mouton, J.A. Mouton and Jeffrey Mouton, a host of Grandchildren arid Great Grand children, nieces, nephews and friends.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.gwspencerdirs.net for the Mouton family.
