James Russell McKinney

James (Jim) Russell McKinney, originally from Little Rock, AR, passed away on Saturday, December 15th, 2018 in Southlake, TX at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Montgomery McKinney and Elizabeth Harrison McKinney as well as his stepmother, Ernestine Henderson McKinney. Jim was a graduate of Little Rock Senior High School and the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville. He was a member of the University of Arkansas Electrical Engineering Hall of Fame and a Registered Professional Engineer in Arkansas, Missouri and Texas. His engineering career spanned over thirty years of service with Southwestern Bell. Jim was an Eagle Scout and continued to enjoy camping, hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities throughout his life.

Jim is survived by his children, Melissa Ripley (Allen) of Southlake, TX and Blake McKinney (Martha) of Trophy Club, TX. He is also survived by his brother, Robert H. McKinney (Georgann) of Little Rock, AR, stepbrother, John W. Henderson (Elizabeth) of San Antonio, TX, and numerous grandchildren and cousins. The family will have a graveside service at Griffin-Legget Forest Hills Cemetery in Little Rock, AR at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Ozark Society, P.O.
