Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Land Chapel of the Chimes. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
James was born in December 1918 to Elmo and Lela Jordan in Barry. He grew up in Blooming Grove. For a short time as a young man he played guitar in country swing bands and was a huge fan of Milton Brown and Bob Wills. James continued to play guitar all his life. James was a World War II veteran of the 753rd Tank Battalion and retired after 30 years from Piccadilly Cafeteria. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Everman.
A special thank-you to Gloria, who brought him much joy and spoiled him the last few years.
James will join his wife of 51 years, Lillian, in heaven.
Survivors: Those left to remember him include daughter, Ruth Ann Woolsey and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Kenneth and wife, Gloria, Rhonda, Brad and wife, Suzi; brother, Tom Jordan; sister, Joan Paschal; five great-grandchildren; and extended family and dear friends.
