James William Heginbotham III was born on April 28, 1979, the youngest of three siblings. He came into this world 3 months premature. He was tiny, frail and born with Goldenhar syndrome; a condition that would affect him the rest of his life. Although he faced numerous and extensive surgeries and procedures from birth and through his adulthood, he never let it affect his positive outlook on life.
He enjoyed playing and watching sports as well as traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Jamie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 17, 1995. His faith was important to him and he continued to have an active share in his ministry work. Jamie will always be remembered for his kindness and bravery. He faced chronic illness, pain and an endless list of injuries with positivity and grace. He always had an encouraging word, a sincere compliment or a funny joke for everyone around him. He had a unique and special gift for treating every person he met like a brother or sister.
Jamie left this world on February 3rd, 2022, exactly the way he entered it; when He was ready! He prepared his family for his passing and gave us the final gift of his time. He spent his last days accepting many visitors and receiving phone calls from those that he held dear. He reminisced about all the joys in his life and about many of his struggles with a sense of peace, contentment and even laughter. He shared his faith and spoke with great joy and conviction about what it will be like when we see him again. For those that knew and loved him, Jamie was a treasure, like “a pearl of great price”.
Jamie is survived by his loving Parents: Ana and James Heginbotham Jr., Maternal Grandmother: Grace Casarez, Paternal Grandparents: Betty & Bill Heginbotham Sr.; Sisters and their Spouses: Tricia & Damian Imboden, Joi & Daniel Martinez, Nephews: Dylan, Gavin, Ethan & Jaxon, Great Nieces and Nephew: Lilliana, Avery, and Oliver. He has numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that have given him a lifetime of love and support, and of course, his large extended spiritual family from the congregation that has been part of Jamie’s life for more than 40 years.
