Deacon Ivy Lee Chambers.
Ivy Lee “Doug” Chambers was born February 21st 1950 in Franklin, Texas to Ollie Chambers, Sr. and Susie Chambers.
Ivy attended Carver High School he graduated in 1968. He worked for Esco Elevators in 1969. Ivy worked at UPS for many, many years. He opened the Sausage Shoppe in 1994. He was a expert for making homemade sausage and Beef Jerky. Ivy endured in a lot of talents such as making homemade everything (skates, guns, shoes, ice cream and so on).
On January 18, 1970 Ivy united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Alyce Lee and to that union they produced their added, children; Alandres Monterria Chambers and twins Wendell Lavon Chambers and Gwendolyn Lashun Chambers. Ivy Chambers served as an Usher and Honorary Deacon at Mount Carmel Baptist Church he was a member there for over 50 plus years.
Ivy (Doug) loved to play golf and make delicious meals for friends and family. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys his favorite team and Deer Hunting. Ivy was proceeded in death by his son, Wendell in 2013, he also his parents and 9 siblings which proceeded him in death; Robert Chambers, Alandas Chambers, James Earl Chambers, Roland Chambers, Dennis Jackson, Alva Mae Ward, Vermel Autry, Arlena Jefferson and Glenn Chambers
Left to forever cherish Doug’s loving memories; his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Mary Chambers, loving son, Alandres (Poncho) Chambers (Angela) loving daughter, Gwendolyn (Shun) Chambers Biscoe (Larry); grandsons, Deedrick L. Chambers, Chandler A. Chambers, Julian Chambers, Dalandrick Chambers, Jovon McKnight, Princeton Dorsey, Bryden Williams; granddaughters, Surina Biddle, Jamie Ellis; brothers, Marvin Gray and Ollie Chambers, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Jones, Eva D. Stansell and Naomi Coleman; three great grandchildren; god children, Ayesha Sheppard, Davina Perry, George Kirkland, Charles Stone, Lance Findlay and Antoine Gardner; a host of nephews, nieces brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, many loving friends and Mount Carmel Church Family.
