Hubert Strom was born May 24, 1934, in Norton. He graduated from Snyder High School, earned a B.S. degree in architectural engineering at the University of Texas and an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School. He married Mary Bynum on June 5, 1954, at First Methodist Church of Galveston. He served two years in the U.S. Army.
He spent his career in the materials handling equipment business and owned his own company for several years. He was vice president of Inca Metal Products Corp. He was a member of Meadowbrook United Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Class, the Administrative Council, the West Texas Historical Association, Texas State Historical Association and Texas United Methodist Association.

Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Zelma Strom, and sister, Frankie Beth Nelson.
Survivors: Wife, Mary; son, Bruce Strom and wife, Misty; son, Scott Strom and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Tiffany Yosten and husband, Kevin, Rachel Strom, Matt Strom and wife, Melanie, Kirsten and Matt Arntz, and Brad Strom; great-grandchildren, Jenna and Heath Yosten, and Gabe Arntz; brother, Bill Strom and wife, Nancy; sister, Carol Hodge and husband, Mike; and nieces and nephews.
