Oh wow! I stumbled on this sad information about Hazel Jefferson, a beautiful person I met when I arrived in Fort Worth to go to grad school at TCU. She and her late husband, Sunny as we affectionately called him,  extended warm greetings to me and my homeboy (Walter Robinson) when I/we attended the services at Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was a great human being, woman of God and an amazing rich singer. I use to love hearing her sing, “ just look where I’ve come from, I’ve come a long ways. I’ve had some ups and downs, but I kept on just the same. I can see almost the top of the mountain, and I can drink from the Christian  fountain. But just look where I’ve come from, I’ve come a long ways.” She used to send us in and she would go in on that song. It was like her own personal testimony! And Hazel could cook! I never had a poundcake that taste better than my mother’s pound cake! I loved her! I’m grateful that our paths crossed, even though we hadn’t seen each often in a quite a while. I’ll see her on the other side of the river of Jordan!!

Sending love, condolences and prayers to the family of Hazel Jefferson, who was a a precious friend and sister in Christ  for multiple decades. Hazel was a Woman of God  who loved and cared deeply for her family and friends. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She left a great legacy of faith.  Those of us who were impacted by her life need to continue her legacy and seek  the Lord with all our hearts, Worship him in Spirit and in Truth, Study God’s word and apply it, and Pray without ceasing. My dear Hazel, I know when you answered the Master’s call, you heard, “Well Done, My Good & Faithful and Servant!! Well Done!!” 

Praying for you guys.  She was a live wire that sparked us all!!!

Just wanted to say Auntie we love and celebrate you for all you have done and now where you have arrived!!! Give my grandparents the big hugs your husband the biggest kiss and let the rest of the family know that we are doing just fine. Continue to pray and watch over us.

My mom Linda Faye Auntie Hazel wanted me to let you know that she loves you and wanted to be here but couldn’t due to surgery. We celebrate your life and love all day everyday

Hello,  
I felt so loved by Hazel.  She taught me so much, supported me and gave me such solid advice.  She was truly one of God’s angels.  I will never forget her beautiful  singing voice and hearing her laugh. I loved cooking her hamburgers and watching her happily eat them.  In the last years after Sonney died, we had a few lovely phone conversations that I will cherish always.  

Be still now and rest in God’s arms.  Love you always, Wendy 

Hazel was a kind person.  She was a great help when I went through the loss of my step-mother.  I am grateful to have known her.
