Greg was born on January 20, 1970, in Fort Worth, TX, to Ronna and Gary White and was a 1988 graduate of Trinity Valley School. While earning a horticulture certificate and attending the University of Texas at Arlington, Greg owned and incorporated his lawn care business, NovaCAS Environmental Lawns. Even with all of the demands of running a business and a full class load, he managed to achieve honor roll every semester. He graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 1993 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics in 1996. He began his corporate career at Affiliated Computer Services as a customer support desk agent and quickly became the Director of Interactive Marketing. In 2003, Greg and Jennifer welcomed their first child, Riven White, and 13-months later, in 2004, their son, Dawson White.
In 2006, he and his family relocated to Pittsburgh, PA, for his American Eagle Outfitters position and enjoyed many years of Scouting, scholastic events, and travel to exciting places. In 2012, Greg became the Vice President of Technology Services for Dick’s Sporting Goods. His final career move came in 2018 when he accepted the role of Vice President of Customer Care, IT Infrastructure & Operations at Express, LLC. He often commented that Express was where he felt most at home in his career and truly loved working with his team. His passions included his Buddhist practice, attending sangha at Central Ohio Center for Pragmatic Buddhism, financial planning, traveling, and spending time with his wife and children. He was also a passionate and avid runner, often running upwards of 20 or 25 miles weekly.
A friend of Greg’s in Dublin, OH, recently shared that “Greg had a kind soul, a sensitive heart, and a passion for helping and protecting those he adored. We shared an undying love for our kids.” A co-worker from Dick’s Sporting Goods commented that Greg was “one of the best human beings I have ever worked with and had a chance to know.”
