Gloria was born June 5, 1935, near Gorman to Alton M. and Methel Thompson. She graduated from Morenci High School, attended Grand Canyon College and received an associate degree in nursing from Tarrant County Junior College. While at Grand Canyon College, she met the love of her life, Robert Roy Pettit, and they were married July 22, 1955. This loving union produced three sons: Michael James Pettit, Robert Owen Pettit and Stephen Lee Pettit.
Gloria worked for over 30 years as an operating room nurse. A lifelong seamstress, in her later years she developed a passion for quilting and made many beautiful quilts, which she gave to family and friends.
We will dearly miss her and cherish our memories of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clifton, Ross and Billie; and sister, Eunice Faye.
Survivors: Gloria's ongoing legacy is her close and loving family, including her husband; sons and their wives, Elaine and Melissa; sister, Della Mae Moreland; grandsons, Eanen and Johnathan; granddaughters, Shawna and Corey; and great-granddaughter, Alexis.
