Glenda Ann Gipson Sturges was born August 18, 1947 to the parentage of F.G. and Vivian L. Gipson. Glenda shared her childhood with 8 siblings and 3 other siblings. She graduated high school from Jackson High School in Smith County. She continued her education at TCJC, where she obtained her associates degree in Nursing.
Glenda transferred to TCU in Fort Worth, Tx where she obtained her Bachelor of Applied Science Degree as a Registered Nurse.
She later served as a School Nurse in the Fort Worth ISD for 21 years, retiring from Paschal High School in 2008 after serving there for 17 years.
In February of 1970 sparks started flying on a blind date where she made the acquaintance of Willie James Sturges, they married on July, 25, 1970 and the union remained for 53 years until her demise. Through that matrimony they had 2 lovely children Rolando Sturges (deceased) and Tamara Sturges (Johnson) of Fort Worth, Texas.
Glenda was a faithful member and church mother where she served at Crouch Memorial C.O.G.I.C. under the tutelage of the late Pastor Fuhrmann Diggs Jr. and during the merging of Crouch’s Time of Harvest C.O.G.I.C. under the late Pastor Randie Boyd, until her health began to become challenged.
Glenda was a ray of sunshine wherever her presence was graced. She always saw the best in people and had a strong love and conviction in her relationship with God. Glenda’s faith in God was always at the forefront of her life and she kept her faith in him to the very end.

(Sister’s) Emma Lee (Gipson) Nelson and Lille Ruth (Gipson) Pinke.
Glenda is loved and survived by her devoted husband Willie James Sturges, (Daughter) Tamara Sturges (Johnson), (Brothers) R.C. Gipson (Earlene), A.C. Gipson (Carolyn) of Tyler, Tx and Larry Gipson (Belinda) of Fort Worth, Tx; (Sisters) Ruby Hicks of Fort Worth and Brenda Rider Moore of California; (Grands) Avery, Kayce, Katlyn and Arden; a host of family and friends.
