Glen W McClendon IV, age 48, of Hurst, Texas passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021. Glen was born July 6, 1973 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. There he graduated from Northrop High School where he developed lifelong friendships. Glen loved the Lord. He was born again at a young age. His first "service" was when he was 7 years old. Baptizing his sister and 2 cousins in water in the basement. Glen wanted to tell everyone about the love of Jesus. His desire was so intense that his high school football team nicknamed him "Preacher." Glen was a very gifted man of God. With a keen understanding of the Bible and penchant for connecting with people of any age, at Resurrection Glen worked in the Student ministry as a leader, teacher and mentor to the children and youth, as well as assisting with the teaching in the Senior Adults Ministry. Glen's ability to communicate and connect with people enabled him to meet people where they were. Glen also spent time learning more about his ministry and calling-as an individual and what his gifts were to the Body of Christ. He enrolled in resurrection School of Ministry in conjunction with Oral Roberts University Bible Institute where he earn a Certificate in General Theological Studies. While doing so, he made himself a student of ministry, not having obtained but still pressing on higher in his calling. He also was a faithful member of the Fountain of Life Community Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Glen loved to talk about Jesus and the Ministry of Presence. He had found you don't have to be ordained, have a degree, or be certified; you just have to be available to love others like Jesus would. While he rest in eternal peace, he leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 29 years, Lisa McClendon; a son, Cory Cartwright; daughters, Kala McClendon and E'Lisha McClendon; his father, Glen W. McClendon, III; his mother, Tara Ganaway; his brother, Demetrius McClendon his sisters, Sylvia McClendon, Tara Brooks and Danielle Winterhalter and a host of other relatives and friends.

Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive form God.
