Wayne was born March 20, 1946 to George Elbert and Wahnella Templeton in San Saba, Texas. He attended Eastern Hills High School where he played basketball, and earned a scholarship to play at Weatherford College. Wayne worked for 30 years as an engineer for Southwestern Bell/AT&T. He was an avid golfer. He loved his family, and was a loving husband, father, and an excellent grandfather. Wayne had a strong Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Candace.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Erma; son, Brian; daughters, Shelly Earp and Andrea Owen and her husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Kaylee, Peyton, Hannah, Ryann, and Maci; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Deana Grubis and her husband, Jerry; and nephews, Toby and Jay.
In lieu of flowers individuals can donate to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, or the charity of their choice.
